The inaugural Mitas Terra in the Berra was a great success.
3 days of sunshine, spectacular trails, dusty fireroads, flowy descents and rocky singletracks made sure all riders worked hard for their three days of racing. Some riders also came and enjoyed one or two stages and got and extra rest day inbetween. Todays last race was 20 kilometers in Majura Pines. Andy Blair designed a tough last day that suited the cross-country riders well with its rocky and twisty corners and with some steep climbs to keep everyone honest.
In Elite Men Kyle Ward won the stage ahead of Jay Vine and Luke Brame. Kyle Ward also won overall after his 2 minutes stage win in Majura with Jay Vine in second and Andy Blair took out the last podium spot overall. Samara Sheppard won again in Elite Women and took out the overall win as well. Canberra’s Cristy Henderson came second in today’s race and third overall. Karen Hill came third today and second overall after 3 days of racing.
The other overall category winners were:
U19 Men: Josh Bilski
19-39 Men: Todd Cuthbert
19-39 Women: Gwynn Le Maitre
40-49 Men: David Shepherd
40-49 Women: Tracy Fenwick
50-59 Men: Garry James
60+ Men: Mark Moerman
