Congratulations to Charlie Brodie who broke the Dirt Crits Mt Taylor Climbing record last night and became King of the Mountain. The new record is 13:42. Well done Charlie! Congratulations also to Queen of the Mountain Zoe Cuthbert who was fastest female with the time 17:04. Well done Zoe!
A special mention also goes to our junior riders in D grade, who all completed the Mt Taylor Hill climb with a fantastic effort and determination. The young riders were Jesse Dunlop, Parker Knox, Eddie Mungoven, Oliver Grande, Ash McLean and Angus Sheppard. Amazing effort boys!
CORC’s Special Christmas Edition of Dirt Crits at Mt Taylor was a great success. The afternoon started with the kid’s race outside Russ Baker’s house using a technical course set by the CORC juniors. All the children who raced did a super effort on a track that was technical with tight and twisty corners and some steep uphills, but the youngest racers all finished in style and were rewarded with delicious BBQ sausage sandwiches, water melon, ice cream and ginger bread cookies.
We also celebrated Scott Dore who is moving to Brisbane. Thank you Scott for all your help with events, social rides and with the CORC Junior riders. You will be missed, but we also wish you all the best with your new endeavours.
A big thank you goes to all the volunteers who helped out with the race and the BBQ and thank you Russ Baker for lending your back yard to the CORC Dirt Crits racers, helping with timing and taking photos. The evening finished with a time trial at the kids track.
