XC Success in West Kowen

121 riders raced the second round of the CORC XC series in beautiful weather. The tracks were well prepared and was a mix of flowy singletrails through West Kowen mixed in with a few punchy climbs, connecting fireroads and twisty and rooty descents. The club welcomed many new riders to the cross-country scene and also saw familiar racers coming back for round 2. Also spotted in the bush was Brendan Johnston having a hit out in Elite Men before heading to South Africa and Cape Epic. The U13 category had a record number of 18 riders, so the future looks bright. Elite Men had 15 riders, while Elite Women had 6 racers. Todays biggest category was Master Men 3/4 with 25 racers.

Many CORC riders also volunteered this morning making the race easy to organise. A special welcome back to Mike who has joined the cross-country crew again. Thank you to all the racers, volunteers and photographer David Blucher for a great morning in West Kowen.
