SUMMARY:Dirt Crits
DESCRIPTION:Dirt crits are kids and novice friendly\, but also offering enough challenge for experienced riders to ping against the rev limiter. We have a handicap format that ensures that everyone has a chance to win\, and everyone has a race at their limit. Kids races start in one block and are not handicapped. Dirt Crits is held on Thursday evenings\, although from previous years we anticipate that some events may be cancelled due to inclement weather\, heat waves\, global pandemics\, or lack of organisers. To calculate overall results\, we count your best roughly 75% of races\, according to the formula in our results sheet (results are available after round 1). \nWe ask that all entries are pre-entered to make it easier for us. If you forget then we can enter you on the day\, if you have AusCycling card and $6 for us. \nFor the Dirt Crit series\, all participants must be AusCycling members. This includes all juniors. AusCycling membership ensures all riders are covered for personal accident and public liability insurance (including when not at Dirt Crits). AusCycling does have a four week free trial membership:  AusCycling | 4 Week Free Trial Membership \nDetails and entry link are here: https://entryboss.cc/calendar/corc

SUMMARY:CORC XC Round 4
DESCRIPTION:We’re back at Cotter Pines for the last XC race of the season. We’ changing up the course a bit compared to our race there last year\, keeping the best bits but adding in some more overtaking opportunities. \nThere are 4 rounds planned for 2024\, in addition to the ACT Championships later in the year. These are fun races open to riders of a wide range of abilities. For XC racing some courses will be harder than others\, and to make this clearer to everybody we have a grading system. Easy\, for the flatter\, less technical trails (think Sparrow hill)\, medium for courses that have more climbing and technical features (think some of Heartbreaker and Little Seymour) and hard for courses that are\, how do we say this\, just hard… \nDetails and entry link are here: https://entryboss.cc/races/20009 \n

SUMMARY:CORC CX Series Round 2
DESCRIPTION:This is round 2 of our 4 round mini series. We’re continuing to use the area behind Stromlo Leisure Centre (the pool)\, and will change up the course for each round. Some will be fast and flowy\, with more climbing\, tech and off-camber goodness for other rounds . \nCompared to earler years\, we have tweaked our schedule slightly\, see below for details. \nPlease get in touch at xc_racing@corc.asn.au if you can help with course setting on Saturday afternoon. We will set up from 2pm\, meet behind the pool. \nFor riders racing in B-Grade or C-Grade any bike is welcome\, however for A-Grade Men\, and A Grade-Women \, in the spirit of cyclocross\, a bike with drop bars is required. \nThe Junior race is on the adults course for those kids after a bit more of a challenge before stepping up to C-Grade. For Kids racing: please register as junior. \nBeginners are most welcome to Cyclocross racing! A valid Auscycling\, is required. SUMMARY:CORC XC Series Round 3
DESCRIPTION:This is the third round of the CORC Club series for 2024 \nOur grading concept is simple\, and largely based on self selection\, with a few rules: \n\nTo avoid juniors racing excessive lengths we have implemented minimum age limits to some categories.\nPick your category based on your speed and endurance. We will try to aim for the target race times below\, but may adjust lap numbers based on the course.\nDon’t race up a grade to try to get a longer race. The intent of these races are to be shorter cross country races\, not marathon races. Once the leader in each category crosses the finish line all riders can complete the lap they are on\, but not start a new lap.\nSometimes it’s not easy to know which category to choose. Don’t stress it if you get it wrong\, you can always change category for the next race. If you race up or down on purpose we may kindly bump you up or down.)\n\n\n\n\nCategory\nTarget Race Time (First Rider)\nTypical Lap Numbers\nLimitations\n\n\nA Grade Men\n1:15-1:30\n5\nU19 & older only\n\n\nA Grade Women\n1:10-1:20\n4\nU19 & older only\n\n\nB Grade Men\n1:10-1:20\n4\nU17 & older only\n\n\nB Grade Women\n1:00-1:10\n3\nU17 & older only\n\n\nC Grade Men\n1:00-1:10\n3\nU15 & older only\n\n\nC Grade Women\n0:40-0:50\n2\nU13 & older only\n\n\nD Grade Men\n0:40-0:50\n2\nU13 & older only\n\n\nD Grade Women\n0:20-0:30\n1\n\n\n\nE Grade Men\n0:20-0:30\n1\n\n\n\nLocation\nStromlo.
