DESCRIPTION:Canberra Off-Road Cyclists (CORC) is pleased to host the 24th ACT Schools Mountain Bike Championships. \nWe’re Australia’s largest Mountain Bike Club and through its affiliation with AusCycling is committed to the development of mountain biking at all levels. \nThe ACT Schools MTB Championships aims to promote having fun on a bike through a team based relay event in Canberra. The event is open to school children in years 6-12\, from the ACT and interstate. The event started in 1999\, and has run every year since except 2002\, 2020 and 2021. DESCRIPTION:We have got a 4 round mini series planned again for 2025\, from May to August. We are continuing to use the area behind the pool\, and will change up the course for each round. Some will be fast and flowy\, with more climbing\, tech and off-camber goodness for other rounds . \nPlease get in touch at xc_racing@corc.asn.au if you can help with course setting on Saturday afternoon. We will set up from 3pm\, meet behind the pool. \nFor riders racing in B-Grade or C-Grade any bike is welcome\, however for A-Grade Men\, and A Grade-Women \, in the spirit of cyclocross\, a bike with drop bars is required. \nThe Junior race is on the adults course for those kids after a bit more of a challenge before stepping up to C-Grade. DESCRIPTION:We have 4 rounds planned for 2025\, in addition to the ACT Championships later in the year. Cross-Country races are fun and open to riders of a wide range of abilities. For XC racing some courses will be harder than others\, and to make this clearer to everybody we have a grading system. We have a handicap format that ensures that everyone has a chance to win\, and everyone has a race at their limit. Kids races start in one block and are not handicapped. Dirt Crits is held on Thursday evenings\, although from previous years we anticipate that some events may be cancelled due to inclement weather\, heat waves\, global pandemics\, or lack of organisers. To calculate overall results\, we count your best roughly 75% of races\, according to the formula in our results sheet (results are available after round 1). \nWe ask that all entries are pre-entered to make it easier for us. If you forget then we can enter you on the day\, if you have AusCycling card and $6 for us. \nFor the Dirt Crit series\, all participants must be AusCycling members. This includes all juniors. AusCycling membership ensures all riders are covered for personal accident and public liability insurance (including when not at Dirt Crits).
